September 08 Meeting Minutes Read & Adopted 

 

Treasurer's Report:
    This year we have 59 club members.
        Checking:             $ 725.78

        Savings                 $   26.29 
        Eq Fund:               $ 295.48      ( Equipment )

        Eq Fund CD:        $ 519.41      CD started last year with $500.00 

 

Committee Report

     Repeaters:   

         146.79 MHz  - Saw Mill Road Site.

              Linked to 146.94 MHz

          

         146.94 MHz - Shelter Cove Site

             Linked to 146.79 MHz

 

         147.33 MHz - Grasshopper Site

            OK as stand-alone repeater.

   

         Packet Repeater - Pratt Mtn Site

             Not functional.  Radio is OK with 45W output & excellent sensitivity

             TNC with Don & friends for Digi-repeater settings formatting 

              

Old Business:

     80 M antenna at Alderpoint Cal Fire station was serviced .... SWR is OK

 

      October 19th Humboldt Redwoods Marathon  .... 500 runners

     Club's 147.33 MHz  repeater functioned flawlessly all day

 

     Club's December Face-to-Face Gathering

          December Holiday party & meeting date unknown.

          Richardson Grove Campground Center location is dropped.

          Possible site at Wilson's if there were no conflicts.

          Topic will be explored during Club's Monday Night Nets.

 

     Nominations for SHARC 2009 Officers

         Committee volunteers included: Steve, Sally, & Jerry

         Gary nominated for Treasurer

         Todd & Steve nominated for Board members

          Eddy nominated for Secretary or President

          Leland nominated for Vice President

          People from Shelter Cove area were considered.

 

New Business:

     Club's Liability Insurance

          Policy premium of $263.00 was paid .... in-force till 10-1-09

          Policy pool includes FWRA & HARC.

         SHARC possibly dropping coverage with 3 month advanced notice.

 

     Club's Equipment Insurance

          Policy premium of $56.00 per year is paid.

          Lightning strike to a repeater site could require $1000. plus to replace.

          Gary expressed actual claim return on older equipment & if policy is needed..

 

    Nov 13th - Earthquake Drill  .... Nationwide ... starts at 10:00 am

 

    Shelter Cove Repeater Pre-Amp ... UHF link radio input needs a tweak

    Jack suggested a HamTronics pre-amp to be purchased & installed to improve path.

 

    Voice ID on Repeater .... Leland suggested this feature to replace Morse Code ID.  

     Not sure if slot on rack is available or who would do project.

 

 Open Forum:

       Club Mailings .... 2008 & 2009

         Suggested we combine 2009 election ballots with 2009 membership reminder & dues stub.

         Possible 2009  new membership mass mailing .... this years mailing worked out well
